Spindle Staircase

Often mistaken for traditional. Rarely just that.

Spindle staircases are sometimes assumed to be the traditional choice, but the effect can be entirely modern depending on the spindle you choose. They remain one of the most popular ways to balustrade a staircase and one of the most flexible in how they can be finished.

In timber, spindles can be French-polished to match the rest of your staircase, or painted to suit your scheme. In metal, they can be powder-coated to any RAL colour, with an extensive range of profiles and patterns available, including a number of designs we offer in partnership with Grande Forge. Whichever material you choose, spindles are a staircase detail genuinely built to catch the eye.

An Extensive Range of Profiles

From simple turned timber spindles to ornate patterned metalwork, the range of spindle designs available is genuinely vast. It's worth taking the time to look through the options before deciding, the right spindle can change the entire character of a staircase.

Traditional or Modern

The same spindle form can read as classic or contemporary, depending entirely on the design and finish.
