Conversion

A new look, without starting from scratch.

Not every tired staircase needs replacing. A conversion takes an existing, fully functional staircase and updates its appearance, usually the balustrade and finish, without rebuilding the structure underneath. It's often the quicker and more cost-effective route to a staircase that finally suits your home.

We offer two main approaches. A metal conversion replaces your existing balustrade with powder-coated metal panels, in a pattern and colour to suit, while a glass conversion swaps it for toughened glass, either grooved in for a seamless look, or fixed onto brackets to match your existing door furniture. There are limitations to what a conversion can achieve, and for some staircases a new build is genuinely the better route, we'll always tell you honestly which applies to yours.

Metal or Glass, Your Choice

Both conversion routes are available in a wide range of colours and finishes, so the result still feels considered rather than retrofitted. We'll talk you through which suits your existing structure and your budget before any work begins.

Faster Than a Rebuild

A conversion transforms the look of your staircase without the time and cost of a full replacement.

Metal or Glass

Powder-coated panels or toughened glazing, two distinct looks, both built to the same standard.

Honest Advice First

If your existing staircase has limitations a conversion can't overcome, we'll tell you before you commit, not after.
